Obituary for Schuyler Smith

Schuyler R. Smith, 79, of Manlius passed away September 11, 2015 in Sarasota FL. He was born in Manlius the son of DeAlton and Louisa Smith. Skip graduated from Fabius High School and later graduated from NYS School of Forestry at Wanakeena and Cornell University.
He was co-owner of Tre-G Farms until his retirement.
During his early years he was a member of Pompey Town Board, Board of Assessment Review, Onondaga Co. Farm Bureau Board of Directors, Onondaga Co. Dairy Promotion Committee, DHIC Board, Onondaga Co. Cooperative Extension Board of Directors, ASCS office (Farm Services Association).
Skip was a member of Cazenovia Presbyterian Church and he enjoyed singing in the choir and the Limestone Harmonizers, and square dancing with the Cazenovia Swingers. In his retirement years Skip enjoyed RV travel, and winters in Sarasota playing volleyball, singing in chorus groups, and musical comedies.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Carol Baumgartner, daughter, Holly (Paul) Monkman, sons; James S. (Susan), Jeffry (Terry) Smith, sisters; Jean (John) Boor, Patricia (Harold) Hooker, brothers; David (Lois), Phillip (Lois) Smith, grandchildren Breanna, Lindsey, Ryker Smith, Oliver Monkman, several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday 4-7p.m at the Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8171 Cazenovia Road, Manlius. A funeral service will be Saturday at 10a.m. at the Funeral home, burial will follow at Manlius Village Cemetery.
