Obituary for Barbara A. Martin

Barbara A. Martin, 83, of Fayetteville, formerly of East Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday. She was a graduate of Eastwood High School, class of 1951. Barbara retired from East Syracuse Minoa School District in 1992 where she was a secretary for many years. She was a member for many years of St. Matthew’s Church in East Syracuse where she was active in church activities, fundraisers and youth education. In later years, Barbara was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville. Barbara enjoyed traveling the world and spending time with her family and numerous friends. She was predeceased by her parents Robert and Mary Kallfelz as well as her brother Bobby Kallfelz.
Survivors: her husband Wilfred J. Martin; children, Stephen, Paul, Maureen (Douglas) Van Ness, Patrick (Mary Pat Greis-Martin) and Timothy; six grandchildren, Caroline and Lindsay Van Ness; Sara and Connor Martin and Jack and Grace Martin as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services: Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Thursday at R. H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel. Prayers services begin at 9:15 am Friday at the funeral home, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Road, Minoa and 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs Street, Fayetteville, New York 13066. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
