Obituary for Paolo Casinelli

Paolo Casinelli, 85, of DeWitt, passed away Tuesday surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 30, 1930 in Arpino, Italy the son of Filippo and Angela Casinelli. Paolo married Carmela Casinelli on October 24, 1954. Paolo served in the Italian military and was a Carabinieri. He later retired from Alpha Portland Cement Company and was a communicant of Holy Cross Church.
He enjoyed sitting outside in the sun, having a cup of coffee, watching the Yankees and SU basketball and playing Italian cards.
Survivors: daughter, Susanna of DeWitt; son Paolo Jr. (Tara) of Fayetteville; his pride and joy grandson Dante Paolo; brother, Loreto (Maria) Casinelli; sisters, Teresa, Pia and Rita of Italy; sister-in-law Maria (Gennarino) Casinelli of Toronto; nieces Vera (Tony) Chioritti; nephew, Loreto (Giovanna) Casinelli of Toronto.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Carmela Casinelli and brothers Dante and Antonio Casinelli of Italy.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4-7pm at the Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 East Genesee Street, Fayetteville. A funeral Mass will be Saturday at 10:00am, at Holy Cross Church, 4112 East Genesee Street, DeWitt. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
