The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Mary Hattala can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Mary H. Hattala

Mary H. Hattala, 91, formerly of Dewitt, passed away Tuesday. She was born in Jamesville, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Stach, and Mary attended Jamesville High School. She later worked as a cook for Moses-DeWitt Elementary School for over 20 years.
Mary was a communicant of Holy Cross Church and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She liked to knit and crochet in her free time.
Surviving are: sister, Wilma (Frank) Frydrychowicz; brother John (Lee) Stach; grandchildren, Suzanne (Marc) Wasilewski, Christopher Hattala, Lisa (Jared) Greene, Michael (Jennifer) Fuller; three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Monday at Holy Cross Church, 4112 E. Genesee St., DeWitt from 10-11:30 a.m. with a funeral Mass to follow at 12 noon. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Holy Cross Church Building Fund, 4112 East Genesee Street, DeWitt, NY 13214.
