I have many sweet memories of you my beloved uncle Leif, from the very first time I saw you more than 50+ years ago, when you came to visit Denmark. I was only a few years old and you taught me my very first English words. “Dollar”, “Cute”, “Sweetheart” and “I love you”. I'll never forget that. I've been told I was pinching your bum all the time hahaha
Since then we always had a special relationship. Mutual love. Although there has been time between we've saw each other, we always enjoyed each other's company. You once said I was bold as brass, but it's maybe because I am a lot like you. Say it like it is, is my motto!
We had a lot of fun and especially at the family's “kolonihave” here in your native Denmark, that been a very special place for you when you were here.
I’ve always been proud of my uncle in America. I was babysitting the kids Kirk & Lolane when they were little and you and the family was visiting Denmark. Beautiful lovely children, my cousins, whom I love and luckily have a good relationship with.
And our visit to you and your beloved wife Barbara, gave us memories for life, both my husband and I but also for our children.
And thank you for coming all the way to Denmark, to celebrated our 25th silver anniversary in 2009. It was really big for us and gave us unforgettable memories.
Unfortunately it was also your last trip to your motherland Denmark.
My father, your brother Per will miss you, and all the good talk you both had over Skype several times a week. It's hard for him to understand that you are not there anymore. But now we communicate with you through our hearts.
Thank you for being a part of my life since I was a child. You will always be in my heart. Greet my beloved aunt your sister Rosa, my grandma (Farmor) Ellen and grandpa (Farfar) George, who I miss, and like you I have a specilet place in my heart, where all of you are with me all the time.
I promise you uncle, we'll keep an eye on your beloved wife and children and grandchild for you. We know they are your treasures and therefore our treasures too. I'm sure you probably keep an eye on us all, on your own speciel way, wherever you are right now.
Love you
Marianne
