Obituary for Raymond H. Vedder

Raymond H. Vedder, 86, of Kirkville, died peacefully in his sleep. He was a graduate of Chittenango Central High School and served in the Army from 1951 to 1952. He retired as a mechanic from East Syracuse Chevrolet. Following retirement he worked in security as an armed guard, most recently for Loomis Armored, Inc. He was a longtime communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Minoa and more recently Assumption Church in Syracuse. He enjoyed target shooting and his cats and dogs.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anne; children, Elizabeth, Thomas (Nancy Craven-Vedder) and Christopher; a grandson; two step-grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Moth.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am Saturday at Assumption Church in Syracuse. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
