Obituary for Claudia A. Constas

Claudia A. Constas (Santello), of Jamesville, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Tuesday, April 12. She graduated from St. Aloysius High School in Rome, New York and attended LeMoyne College. She was a stay at home Mom until her children were out of school. She then found her way to DeWitt Community Library, where she enjoyed working for 25 years.
Family always came first for Claudia. She adored her two children and was especially close to her brother Mark.
Claudia was a member of St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church. She was also an avid reader, especially interested in memoirs and biographies.
Claudia is survived by her son, David (Janet Strodel) of Jamesville; daughter, Diane (Nicholas) Brindak, of DeWitt; brother, Mark Santello (Mary) of Lee Center; granddaughter, Sarah Esce of Jamesville; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband of 59 years, Gus, and brothers Michael and Christopher Santello.
The family wishes to express its deepest appreciation to the wonderful caregivers and volunteers at Francis House.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7 pm Friday at Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8171 Cazenovia Road, Manlius. Funeral Service will be at 8:30 am Saturday at St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church, Syracuse.
