Obituary for Harvey F. Horton Jr.

Harvey F. Horton, Jr., 81, of East Syracuse passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. He was born in Syracuse, the son of the late Nellie and Harvey F. Horton, Sr. He retired from the NY State DOT and also worked as a policeman for the Minoa, East Syracuse, Clay and Sheriffs Departments. He enjoyed golf, Brennan’s Beach and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Schneider Horton; children, Edward (Sally) Horton, Jeannie (Robert) Capocefalo, Dennis (Janice) Horton, Denise (Albert) Hamilton and Thomas (Song) Horton; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Jean Mello.
Family and friends may call from 4-6 pm Monday, May 16, 2016 at R.H. Schepp Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Rd., (corner of Kirkville Rd.) Minoa. The service will follow the calling hours.
