Loretta M.  Katra
Loretta M. Katra, 75, of Fayetteville passed away July 1, 2016 surrounded by her family.
Born on September 17, 1940 in Lackawanna, NY she was the daughter of Joseph and Sophie Lagowski. Loretta was educated at Mercy Hospital and Canisius College where she obtained her RN degree. She was retired from North Syracuse Jr. High School.
Loretta enjoyed crafting, reading and gardening. She loved traveling the world with her husband Thomas, most recently visiting Russia, Australia, New Zealand and Iceland.
She is predeceased by her parents, two sisters and brother-in-law, Rosemarie and Robert McElligot and Elaine Mandy; nephew Gregory Bartus; and sisters M. Rosalie and M. Annatolie.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas of 53 years; three daughters, Kathleen Katra, Karen (Michael) Dixon and Elizabeth (Tanner) Ledford; five grandchildren, Kristin (Mack) King, Josephine and Sophie Dixon, Thomas and Grace Ledford; great grandchildren Holly, Samantha and Jacqueline; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Wednesday July 6 from 3 to 7 pm at the Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St. Fayetteville. A prayer service will be Thursday July 7 at 9:45am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 at Immaculate Conception Church, Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Vera House, 6181 Thompson Road, Syracuse, NY 13206
