Obituary for Geraldine L. Phillips

Geraldine “Gerry” Loretta Lampman Phillips passed away August 4, 2016 peacefully with her family at her side at the young age of 98. Born in Remsen, NY on March 31 1918, she was the daughter of George and Eva (Proper) Lampman and graduated from Town of Webb Schools, Old Forge, NY
Geraldine worked at Shopper’s Fair, Westvale, NY for many years and also at Ellie’s Pizza, Liverpool, NY and finally retired when it closed down.
Geraldine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed baking, knitting, and crocheting, watching her damn Yankees, playing dice and cribbage with anyone who cared to be beaten by her and loved her time at Raquette Lake, NY with her family.
She was predeceased by her loving husband William Burdette Phillips, Sr.; her sisters, Margaret Payne, Irene Ranson, Alice Lampman, Agatha Lampman and Marie Rowley; her brothers, William Lampman, Harold Lampman, and Edward Lampman.
She is survived by her sons, William B. Phillips, Jr (Carol) of Constantia, NY, Richard Phillips (Andree)of Rochester, NY and Robert Phillips (Carol) of Clay, NY; daughter, MichellePhillips of Ballston Spa, NY; grandchildren, Deborah (Dan) Hannon, Linda (Steven) Roseen, Michael (Tracy) Phillips, Timothy (Jill) Phillips, Terry DeHollander, Kristen (Matthew) Stephens, Kelly Mari Phillips & granddogs Annie Rose & Abbey Dawn; 18 great-grandchildren, Ryan & Tyler Hannon, Sarah, Ian & Kelsey Roseen, Mikaela, Maddie, Aidan, Riley & Macy Phillips, Nicholas, Brody & Megan Phillips, Taegan, Rylie & Colton Stephens, & Laura & Matthew DeHollander; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Saturday, 8/13 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at R.H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepps Corners Road, Minoa, NY 13116 immediately followed by a celebration of her life. Geraldine will be buried at Assumption Cemetery next to her beloved husband Burdette.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
