Obituary for Marian N. Cheney

Marian N.  Cheney
Marian Nims Cheney, 91, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday. Born January 16, 1925 in Fort Mill, SC, she was the daughter of Willie and Edith Nims. Marian obtained her nursing degree from Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in Columbia, SC. She worked as an RN for many years, both before having children and then again after they were older. Marian was a very active member of DeWitt Community Church for many years, as well as being a very active bridge player. She was known as a seamstress, gardener, and most importantly, as a loving wife and mother.
She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, John; brothers, Kenneth and Bill; as well as her sister, Elizabeth.
Surviving are her daughter, Beth (Steven) Suddaby; sons, James Cheney and Walton (Jeanine) Cheney; grandchildren, Ryan, Elena, Rebecca, Jonathan, Laura, Kimberly, Shane, and Brittany; 5 great-grandchildren, with 2 on the way; and 2 nephews.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, with a funeral service to follow at noon at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville.
