The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Willard Ketchum can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: Willard was a fine man and a gentle leader. He interviewed me when I came to DOT in 1969 and I worked a couple years in Design when he was head man of that department. I remember when he rebuked me once for some errant design attempt, he did it in a scholarly, gentlemanly way. I admired his finesse. My condolences to his family & close friends.

Condolence: My dad was a man loved and admired by many. When I was little, I would travel with him with his job. I remember everyone being very polite and glad to see him.

Although we have not seen each other in a long time. He was always with me in spirit making me the strong independent person I grew up to be.

I was honored to have him as a part of my life and will treasure all he taught me and gave me.

Condolence: Will was definitely one of the most impressive persons I ever worked with at the NYSDOT. He had outstanding knowledge of the
issues and was always willing to give good advice. I also enjoyed being on his bowling
team when I came to Syracuse in 1972. My sincere condolences to the family who will surely miss him.
