Obituary for David A. Laubenstein

David A.  Laubenstein
David A. Laubenstein, 63, of Baldwinsville, passed away on October 13, 2016 after a courageous battle with ALS.
He was born November 5, 1952 in Little Falls, NY to the late Rose and Philip Laubenstein. A graduate of LeMoyne College, he attended the U.S. Public Health Service Hospital in Staten Island, NY. He was one of the first Physician Assistants in Syracuse, working primarily in family practice. In 2006, Dave was named New York State Physician Assistant of the year. He truly cared about every patient. He enjoyed playing golf, the Yankees, SU basketball, and traveling with his family. Dave was foremost a gentleman, devoted husband, father and grandfather. Dave’s final years were spent surrounded by family and friends whom he had touched in some way throughout his memorable life. He was well loved and had a big heart and will be missed very much. Dave was a communicant of Immaculate Conception in Fayetteville.
He was predeceased by his stepmother, Joan Laubenstein. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Kathleen of Baldwinsville, daughters Christine (James) Dunne of Syracuse and Sara Laubenstein of East Syracuse, son James Laubenstein of Baldwinsville, two grandchildren, Alice and David Dunne, brother Philip Laubenstein of Mohawk, NY, step sister Demas George of Little Falls, NY and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Monday October 17 from 4 to 7 pm at the Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St, Fayetteville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday October 18 at 10:30am at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery at a later date.
