John W.  Doris Jr.
John W. Doris Jr. 42, of Kirkville, passed away October 19, 2016.
Born in Utica on May 10, 1974, he was the son of John W. Sr. and Beverly J. Doris. He was educated at the East Syracuse Minoa Schools. John was self-employed for many years as a property preservationist.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, singing and music. John was always putting people’s needs before his own and cherished spending time with his loving family.
He is predeceased by his sister, Brenda Lee Doris; maternal grandparents, Julian and Betty O’Dell; paternal grandparents, John Doris and Ruth Files; and sister-in-law, Marlene Schmiegel. Surviving are his wife of 21 years and together 26 years, Melissa; sons, John W. Doris IV and Dominick A. Doris; daughters, Amanda Jo Doris; his parents; sister, Christy (Fred) Whitehead; brother, Michael A. (Kera Eaton) Doris; mother-in-law, Joann Schmiegel; sister-in-law, Jennifer Schmiegel; brothers-in-law, Eugene and Larry Schmiegel, and Robert (Jesus) Remigio; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Family and friends may call Monday, October 24 from 4 to 8pm at the R.H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Road, Minoa. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery.
