Pat Brefka Messinger of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday. She worked at Birchwood in Liverpool for many years as well as the Dunkin Donuts in Bridgeport. Her most treasured role was serving as “Grammy” to the love of her life, Ava. She was predeceased by her mother, Irene Knapp; brother, James Knapp; sister, Roberta Postilli and husband Richard Brefka.
Surviving are her husband, Gary Messinger; son AJ (Nicole) Brefka; sister, Jackie Daniels; brothers, Ronald and Richard Knapp and granddaughter, Ava as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service is being planned for the spring. .
