The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Obituary for James H. McDermott

James H. McDermott, 75, a life resident of Manlius died March 1, 2017 after a long illness. He retired after 31 years at United Parcel Service. He served 3 years in the United States Navy. He was a member of Teamsters Local 317 and the Manlius Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending many years camping the parks of Canada. He enjoyed attending Chiefs and Crunch games.
He was predeceased by his wife Claudette; parents, James and Viola McDermott; and sister, Patricia Macklin.
He is survived by his sioster, Marion Ward; son, Patrick; step-son, Stephen Slack; step-daughters, Christina O’Neill and Tricia Davies; and nine step-grandchildren.
As per Jim’s wishes there will be no services. Spring burial will be in Pompey Cemetery.
