Obituary for Lois A. Bowers

Lois A. Bowers, 89, of Cazenovia, passed away March 21, 2017 at Crouse Community Center.
She was born December 20, 1927 in Philadelphia to Edward and Hattie Allen. She attended Friend Select School in Philadelphia before attending and graduating from Cazenovia Seminary in 1947.
She married Gordon Bowers in 1949. They were married for 61 years until Gordie's passing in 2010.
Lois was an avid reader and consummate homemaker. She shared her musical skills over decades by playing the organ and piano for the Cazenovia Baptist Church, EHBC, and the Welch Church. Her creative side flourished later in life as evidenced by her spinning, weaving and numerous Scherenchnitte pictures. Her cards were treasured by all who received them.
Lois demonstrated her Christian commitment through her many acts of compassion, too numerous to mention. She touched the lives of so many in service to her Lord. She will be missed as a great-grandmother, grandmother, mother and as a friend to all that knew her.
Surviving are her four children, Kathy Morse of Cazenovia, Doug Bowers of Manlius, Dale Bowers of Cazenovia, and Sally (George) Hillis of Oshawa, Ontario; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Galatians 5: 22-23 The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness and goodness. Against such there is no law.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring for the family.
Contributions may be made to the Cazenovia Public Library.
