The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Cynthia Coursen can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Peter Gow
Condolence: My late wife, Mimi Harrington, was the camp director at Eagle Island in the 1990s and developed a warm and wonderful relationship with Cindy via their shared love of sailing (and I suspect their shared instincts as teachers). I am sorry that I only came across news of her passing just now, and I and my sons send our heartfelt condolences to your family. As Eagle Island is once again a sailing place, I sincerely believe that some day the breezes will blow the memories of these two wonderful women together in the spirit of generous friendship, capable seamanship, and a love of the lake and all that it means.

Condolence: Our Upper Saranac Lake experiences could be said to have been mostly hyphenated. Cindy (and Dick) were the best part of our many summers at the lake, whether simply visiting, competing on the sailing course, hiking, dining out, or at each other's homes, attending the book club Cindy started.

What more can one ask for in life, but countless good memories.

And, so many times when "the gang of five" (you know who you are) got to rambunctious for Dick....and he suddenly remembered something he had to do in Syracuse, Cindy stuck it out keeping bedlam out of camp!

We hope at least some of the next generation will get hooked on this life (and join us in reindeer play).
