Evangeline  Fortino
Evangeline Fortino, 81, of Fayetteville passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was born in Syracuse and attended Central High School. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was co-owner with her husband of Fortino of Fayetteville Florist for 53 years. She served on committees of the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, St. Joseph’s Hospital and served on the Board of the Corinthian Foundation. Angie was a gourmet cook and an accomplished baker. She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Alfonso Fortino, Jr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Philip and Betsey Fortino of Utica and Christopher and Lauri Fortino of DeWitt; brothers, Van (Michelina) Sterio and Dimitrio (Krystyna) Sterio; grandchildren, Thomas and Christopher; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers, Alexander and Costantino Sterio.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. Prayers will begin at 10:15 am on Monday at the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
