The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Richard Bennett can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Dick and I started our broadcast careers together at Channnel 18 in Elmira in the mid 50's! It was a wonderful learning experience for both of us in the pioneer days of television Later when I became program director for the new Channel 9 I asked him to come to Syracuse as one of the first studio technicians (along with.the late Bill Eadie and others)to inaugurate the fledgling station. He was a dedicated and enthusiastic worker and through sheer diligence and patience rose to prominent management responsibilities! Dick always spoke lovingly of Mary Jane from the early years til his sad demise. I know we both loved Elmira and always shared with a smile those wonderful days as he left the loading docks at Rose,Kimball and Baxter to begin a rewarding lifetime in television! Thanks for the memories old friend.
